Best Chicken Soup Recipe

Searching for the best chicken soup recipe is kind of like looking for the lost city of gold. Why? Everyone has their own idea of what the optimal comfort food tastes like…what’s yours?

Chances are that you remember your mother or grandmother making the best chicken soup recipe in the world. If you are on a desperate hunt for a recipe that has been forgotten, you probably won’t find one just like it. Since our memories tend to play tricks on us, you might not even remember what the recipe really tasted like at all. So, rather than searching for a remnant from the past, start looking for a soup that you will find just as comforting as the one that you remember. This way, your family will be able to share your favorite soup recipe, and you will be able to enjoy it too. Just keep in mind that trying to duplicate a lost recipe is nearly impossible.

To begin making a great soup, you must have a fantastic stock. Although many people hate the idea of cooking with bones and fat, this is the only way to create great taste. So, purchase one whole chicken that has not been seasoned, brine it overnight, and then place it inside of a large stock pot with water to cover it; diced carrots; chopped celery; chopped onion; and a bit of chicken base. Then, let the chicken cook until it is no longer raw. Next, remove the carcass from the stock and set it aside.

Now, drain all of the fat from the soup through a strainer until you have just the remaining liquid left. Then, pick the chicken apart with your fingers and add it back into the liquid. Now you can add potatoes, pasta, vegetables, or rice to the mix making sure to add enough water. Allow this liquid to simmer on low for quite awhile or until all ingredients are cooked. As you work on your own rendition of this recipe, you will be able to create the best chicken soup recipe ever…according to your own tastes, of course.

Don’t let anyone tell you that a canned stock is just as good as a homemade one – this simply isn’t true. Try making your own stock, and you will see that there is a world of difference.

What’s the best chicken soup recipe ever created? Chances are it will be the one that you come up with after creating your own delicious stock.
