Blackened Chicken Recipe

If you like your meals with a side of spice, you can’t pass up learning how to make a great blackened chicken recipe.

Although you have probably seen it on countless restaurant menus, there is nothing complicated about making a blackened chicken recipe. All you really need to keep in mind is the technique...the rest is a piece of cake. For the following recipe you will need: freshly ground black pepper; salt; thyme; oregano; paprika; and olive oil. To begin, heat some olive oil in a medium skillet over low heat. Then, slice your chicken breasts very thinly, and place them upon a cookie sheet.

Now, this is the part that you want to pay attention to… place a generous helping of pepper; salt; and paprika onto a large plate. Carefully take each piece of meat and place it directly into the pepper mixture. Coat both sides of the meat thoroughly with the pepper. Proceed with this step until all pieces of meat have been coated. Then, cover each piece with a sprinkling of herbs. Making sure that your skillet is warmed up, carefully place each piece of meat into the skillet and cook thoroughly.

This blackened chicken recipe is as simple as they come. However, if you prefer a spicier meal, you can easily use pink, white, and black pepper the next time around. Also, some people like to add a bit of a kick to the meat by splashing a tiny bit of hot pepper sauce on the meat. Of course, this is entirely up to you. The fresh cracked pepper by itself presents a pleasing note of spice without going overboard, but this may not be enough heat for some people. The best part about cooking is that you can easily create your own meal without a lot of trouble, so go ahead and experiment.

Serve this dish with a side of mashed potatoes, veggies, and freshly baked bread. Whether you are looking for a weeknight staple or whether you want to impress guests, this recipe is the way to go. For those that don’t like their chicken too spicy, take it down a notch by adding some lemon juice.

See how easy it is to create the perfect blackened chicken recipe? Just a bit of spice, a lot of love, and a few moments of your time… that’s all it really takes.
