Chicken Lo Mein Recipes

You’ll find that all the chicken lo mein recipes out there are completely different from one another. This dish may be quite popular throughout North America, though it varies drastically from region to region.

If you want to make something quick and easy for those busy weeknights, the chicken lo mein recipes in this article will be just what you are looking for. You can make this recipe with noodles, ramen, or spaghetti (whatever you happen to have on hand will work). Feel free to play around with this dish in order to make your ideal concoction.

Begin with ½ pound chicken breast cut into bite sized pieces. Then, mix a marinade consisting of soy sauce, rice wine, sesame seed oil, and 1 tsp corn starch. You’ll notice that this marinade recipe does not have any measurements included, and this is due to the fact that everyone has different tastes. In short, mix the flavors according to your own palate. Next, mix a sauce consisting of ¾ chicken broth; 2 Tbsp. oyster sauce; and ¾ tsp. sugar. Lastly, gather ½ pound of noodles; 3 Tbsp. peanut oil; one clove of chopped garlic, salt and pepper.

Some people like to add chopped vegetables to this recipe, but that is up to you. To begin, marinate the chicken in the soy sauce, rice wine, sesame oil, and cornstarch for twenty minutes. Then, cook the noodles until they are al dente, drain them, and set them aside. Next, heat the oil in a wok, then add the garlic and chicken. Cook the chicken until it is almost done, and then remove it from the work. Next, heat two tablespoons of oil, add the salt and pepper, and then add the chicken once again. Finally, add the noodles and sauce, and work all ingredients together until they are mixed. You’ll discover that some chicken lo mein recipes include a bit of orange juice, so go ahead and add that if you like.

Cooking in a wok will ensure that you create a healthy meal in no time. The only trick to cooking in a wok is to be sure that you know the proper cooking order, since some things cook faster than others. Once you have this down, you will be whipping up great meals in no time.

Look for authentic chicken lo mein recipes by searching for Chinese cookbooks. You may have to try a few out in order to find ones that you love, but this shouldn’t be too hard.
