Deep Fried Chicken Recipe
A great deep fried chicken recipe can really spruce up any big event. There is nothing quite like the crunch and crackle of a truly delicious piece of deep fried meat.
Amazingly, the best deep fried chicken recipes are rather simple to make. All you really need is a deep fryer, or a deep pot that can contain a lot of oil, a large jug of oil, and a few key ingredients. Some people prefer to use shortening in place of oil, and this can be a wonderful way of making this type of chicken as well. No matter what kind of frying agent you use, be sure to stand far away from the grease while you are cooking. Also, it makes sense to keep a fire extinguisher nearby just in case of a grease accident.
Grab one cup of shortening, two cups of flour, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, and one whole chicken. Heat the shortening inside of a very large skillet until it has reached the proper consistency. Then, add all of the dry ingredients to a brown paper bag (or plastic zip bag), and add the chicken to the mix. Shake all of the ingredients thoroughly until they are properly coated. Next, place the pieces (carefully!) inside of the skillet. Fry over medium heat until browned.
Once the meat has browned, turn the heat down a bit and allow the meat to cook for another 25 minutes. Place a lid upon the skillet while cooking in order to lock in those juices. After 25 minutes, remove the lid and turn the heat back up to medium-high. Fry all pieces until they are thoroughly cooked and golden brown in color. If you want to add a twist to this deep fried chicken recipe, marinate the chicken over night in buttermilk. When the chicken is done, you should have some succulent meat that is cooked just right.

Serve this chicken dish with mashed potatoes, a side of great veggies, and a slice of warm pie. Whether you are making this dish for a special dinner or whether you are making it in order to warm up a cold weeknight, this is one recipe that you will go back to time and again.
As you can see, this deep fried chicken recipe is so simple anyone can do it. Unlike the recipe itself, the result is a fried chicken that is complex and wonderful to eat.
