Cooking a Frozen Roast Beef

Is there any special method to cooking a frozen roast beef? While many people think that freezing meat is not a good idea, this particular cut is best when it has been in the freezer.

If you want to create a roast that is incredibly succulent, make sure that it has spent some time in the freezer. Sound crazy? For some reason, once the meat has been sent into a deep freeze, it simply roasts better. To begin cooking a frozen roast beef, set your oven to a low 250 degrees, garnish the meat, and then place it in the oven to cook for approximately four hours. Once you take the meat out, it will be falling off the bone.

If you are looking for some great garnish, make sure to add carrots, onions, celery, and potato to the roasting dish. Also, go ahead and place a bit of water in the bottom of the pan in order to create the perfect gravy once the meat has finished cooking. Another great trick is to braise the meat prior to placing it in the oven. Not sure how to braise? Well, the process is simple really. Once you have your meat out of the freezer, place it into a hot skillet. Allow the meat to brown on all sides until it forms a nice crust. Then, remove the meat and place it into your roasting pan.

Should you find that your normal roast is greatly lacking, cut small slits into the top of the meat and add quite a bit of garlic inside of those slits. Once the meat has had time to cook, those little pieces of garlic will become infused throughout the meat creating an intense flavor. Additionally, you will want to add a rub, of sorts, to your meat. This should include salt, pepper, fresh spice, and anything else that you have a taste for. In many ways, cooking a frozen roast beef is just like preparing a fresh one, only the meat is sure to be the best you have ever had.

While all of the methods mentioned above will work especially well with a roast, they will also work with any other large chunk of meat that you may have in the freezer. From lamb to ham, nearly every type of meat can be frozen and cooked.

As you can see, cooking a frozen roast beef is as easy as pie (why not make one of those too?). All you need are a few fresh ingredients and lots of time.
