Cooking Pork Loin Roast

Is there any trick to cooking pork loin roast? While you don’t have to be a magician to prepare this type of meat, it won’t hurt to keep the following concepts in mind.

Cooking pork loin roast is not entirely complex, though you should know that this type of meat does not do well if it is braised or stewed, since this will cause the meat to break down. Instead, cook this cut of meat inside of your oven at a low temperature using a decent rub, which will ensure a succulent meal every time. If you are need of a great recipe for this sort of meal you will find a few helpful suggestions listed below.

One of the simplest ways to prepare this cut of meat is to slit the top of the roast with a sharp knife in various spots. Make each cut about ½ inch thick, and then proceed to stuff sliced garlic inside of the roast throughout the entire thing. Then, prepare a rub consisting of salt, cayenne pepper, pepper, onion powder, olive oil, and rosemary (you can mix this by hand with a mortar and pistil, or with a food processor). When the rub is ready, massage it into the meat thoroughly. Place the entire thing inside of a 200 degree oven, and roast the meat for approximately two hours (or until it is thoroughly cooked).

Another fine method of cooking a pork loin roast is to marinate the meat in your favorite barbeque sauce overnight, slice it thinly the next day, and throw it on the barbeque for a fast meal. As you can see, there are many different ways to prepare this portion of meat. One thing to remember is that a roast is not the same as the tenderloin, so make sure that you have selected the right cut. Also, try to keep in mind that any meat with a bone included will be a better meat in the end, so try to find a roast that has the bone intact.

Once you have gone through any of the recipes listed above at least one time, you will find that creating your own technique is rather simple. Just keep in mind that braising and stewing doesn’t usually work with this cut of meat.

Cooking pork loin roast for a large crowd or for your family will prove to be a hit every time. Remember to select one with a bone, and you will be on your way to preparing an excellent meal.
