Cooking Ribeye Steaks

When cooking ribeye steaks, most people believe that throwing them on the grill is the best way to go… though this may not necessarily be true.

Since this portion of meat tends to be the juiciest that you can acquire make sure to treat it as such. This means that you can easily prepare this type of meat any way you like, though there is one way to  make it that tends to be better than all the rest. A very simple pan fried piece of this meat will be more pleasing to your palate that you may think, so give this easy recipe a whirl before you fire up that grill.

Place a cast iron skillet inside of a very hot oven (500 degrees), and allow the pan to heat up for approximately ten minutes. Meanwhile, allow your steaks to sit at room temperature. Then, remove the pan from the oven and place it on top of a hot burner. Coat your meat with whatever you like (steak spice, salt, pepper…), and place them inside of the skillet to cook for approximately thirty seconds on each side. Then, return the skillet to the oven and allow the meat to cook for another two minutes per side. Remove the meat from the pan and serve warm (allowing meat to rest ten minutes prior to serving).

This method may seem overly simple, though it is really the best way to draw out those juices from this slice of succulent meat. In fact, if you find that your skillet is dripping with juice, go ahead and make a nice gravy to go along with the meat. Traditionally, cooking ribeye steaks has nothing to do with gravy, though it never hurts to add a thick sauce to any meal – especially if you have some great, fresh, bread to go along with it.



Most chefs will agree that this is the best way to prepare this type of meat. However, if you insist of placing it on your barbeque, make sure that you don’t overcook it. Usually, a rare piece of this meat only needs to be cooked for two minutes on each side to be done just right (longer for well done pieces of meat). No matter how you like it, give the recipe mentioned above a try… you’ll be glad that you did!

There’s nothing to cooking ribeye steaks, just make sure that you keep the juices inside of this meat intact while cooking. Soon, you’ll discover that this is one of the best cuts around – whether or not you decide to grill it!
